My Wags Run & More

Yesterday I made a quick trip to Walgreens to use my register rewards that were about to expire.  The deals aren't as great as in previous weeks, but I did manage to roll them for a few more.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find the RR  from the men's dove for $6! This happens to me occasionally to me still.

Venus Embrace Razor: $8.99
Used $2/1 from 2/7 PG
Earned a $4 register reward

Goody Elastic Bands: $2.99
Earned a $2 register reward

Arizona Tea: $1 each, B1G1 Free
(I needed a filler.  I probably could have found something cheaper, but I was thirsty and my oldest daughter loves these.)

Used $8 in register rewards from a few weeks ago
Paid $4.16 with tax and earned $6 in register rewards

I also hit Fred Meyer for some Citre Shine.  I had to go to Mill Creek, because they were out in Bothell, but I was in dire need of more shampoo.

Citre Shine: $1.99 each

Use (8) MF coupons hanging next to the product: 49¢ each!

Gerber Cereal: $1.14 on sale

Four: $1.49 on sale

Paid $8.01

(Seeds not part of my grocery budget, but at least they were 40% off!)

I also stopped by Fred Meyer today to get some Country Oven Bread, on sale for $1.25 each with coupon, because I didn't realize I was almost out.  I spotted some gals while there who were using coupon binders, so I had to say "hi".  They said they were new to couponing, but already saving a ton of money.  I asked their advice on their coupon organization system and shared a few tips of my own.  It's always great to run into fellow couponers!  I wish them well!

Update on Walgreens Diaper Deal

Don't you just hate the fine print sometimes?  I was really, really happy about the $2.99 Huggies diapers at Walgreens this week.  Come to find out that the Huggie's coupon in the Children's Activity Book states "Off Regular Retail".  I'm going to be honest though, I did this deal on Sunday using the coupon and didn't even realize it.  I found out by reading another blog!

Another thing I found out while at my store though, is that they are not accepting the coupons from the Safeway manufacturer coupon book either.  I don't know why, because the coupon is clearly from the manufacturer, but it beeps when scanned.  What a bummer!  Fortunately I had a $2 coupon that I got in the mail from Huggies.  There were $2 printables on Coupons.com recently, but they are no longer available either.

Don't fret if you don't have any of the latter two coupons.  Rite Aid has a great deal on Pampers this week.

Thanks Angela!

Upcoming Huggies Deal at Walgreens: $2.99 per pack!

I'm excited about the upcoming Huggies diaper deal that starts Sunday, 2/6 at Walgreens.  It's even better than the one last week.  You will be able to get each pack for just $2.99!

Buy 1 pack of Huggies diapers at $8.99
Use $2/1 here (IE) or here (FF)
Use a $1/1 coupon from Children's Activty book
Earn a $3 register reward when you buy 1 pack
Final Price: $2.99- I kind of wish I would have waited to stock up on diapers!

I get a little nervous posting these deals sometimes, but For The Mommas has a picture of the upcoming ad posted on her site here.  Thanks Shannon!

I know a lot of people are having trouble finding The Children's Activity Book.  I was one of them.  I've heard it suggested that you check the isle with the coloring books.  Another tip is to check the clearance shelves.  If you get your hands on one, whatever you do, Do Not Turn In Your Coupon!  Just have the cashier scan it and save it for next time.  (I wish I would have know this sooner :)

Update: I wanted to let you know that the fine print on the coupon states that the product must be $7 or more.  I didn't realize this when I published the post.  Sorry!   But, you can still take advantage of the sale priced $7.99 diapers (pay $3.99), just not any marked down packages.
If you need diapers now and want a good deal, print the $4 off Albertsons Basic Diapers.  They were on sale for $7.99 today when I was in the store, and I heard that they are marked down to $5.99 at some Albertsons locations.  Thanks All Together Beautiful!

Huggies Wipes for 50¢ at Walgreens

I guess it's baby day on this blog.  There's another hot deal at Walgreens this week.  This one is on Huggies baby wipes.  You can get them for 50¢ to 75¢ the following way:

Huggies Wipes: $2.50
Use $1/1 from Walgreens "100 In Savings Flyer"
Use $1/1 from Safeway MF coupon book or
Use 75¢/1from coupons.com if you printed it
Final Price: 50¢ to 75¢ each

These are included in the "Spend $25 in Huggies products and earn a $5 Register Reward" promo.  So if you have extra coupons and need some diapers this could be a really good deal. (But please don't raid Safeway for their coupon books!)

What I Learned at Walgreens

I was in Walgreens last night to pick up a few items, and was excited to see that the gal checking out in front of me had a cart full of items she was purchasing by rolling register rewards.  (I don't see other shoppers doing this very often, and sometimes feel like I'm the only one!)   She also happened to be using the coupons from the highly coveted Walgreen's Children's Activity Book that I have been so desperately trying to find recently!

I told her that I had purchased the Activity Book in the past, but no longer had most of the coupons inside.  I did not realize that you do not have to turn these coupons over, and had given them to the cashiers with my previous purchases!  I was now having trouble locating more of these books.

I also mentioned that I had already bought three packs of Huggies, as part of the great deal that is going on this week, and wanted to buy more but they were out of my baby's size.  She suggested buying a larger size and just exchanging them later. That way I would still get the $5 register reward this week.  Duh, why hadn't I thought of that?!

She was so sweet, and offered to let me use the Huggies coupon from her Activity Book.  The cashier was fine with it, so of course I bought some more diapers!  The coupon brought the diapers down to  $4.32 each when factoring in the $5 RR I earned.

Now for the best part...

She was shopping with a  friend.  That friend happened to have an extra Children's Activity Book in her car so she gave it to me!!!  Now that's coupon clipper commroderie!

These gals had a great system going.  I think they do their Wags shopping together on a regular basis.  They were organized and on the ball!  It made me want to find a shopping buddy.

Lessons Learned:

1. Don't turn over coupons from The Children's Activity book.  Just have the cashier scan them.
2. If you want to do the Huggies diaper deal and they are out of the size you need, buy the wrong size and exchange them later.
3. Couponers need to stick together!

If you are a local and are trying to find a book she suggested checking the Lynnwood 24 hour location!

If you want to earn more than one register reward, you must do each Pert deal in separate transactions.  Confused about any of this?  Read my Walgreens 101 here!

If your store is out of stock already, make sure to ask when their shipments come in.  You can always get a rain check for the Sure, but you want to buy the Pert this week in order to get the register reward.

As a side note, I've been having trouble finding the correct size Huggies at any of the Walgreens in my area.  Fortunately they all expect a shipment tomorrow.  In case you missed this hot diaper deal you can see it, and all of this weeks Walgreens deals here.
